DETAILS
Billie is 5-month-old kitten that we featured in a recent newsletter. She had a unique start to life. Her mom was rescued from a bodega location and gave birth to Billie and 4 other siblings. While in foster care and during wellness exams, Billie was noticed to have a "loopy" behavior and sometimes during eating. A few tests were conducted leading the shelter veterinarian to question a liver shunt issue, which was confirmed with specialized imagining, but we need additional CT scan. Liver shunt is an abnormal blood vessel that diverts blood around the liver, causing toxin buildup and symptoms such as stunted growth, disorientation, drooling, vomiting, and seizures. The treatment is a surgical correction, which offers the best long‑term prognosis. We are recognizing each $20 donation with a light pumpkin and donor's name that will glow in the PAWS lobby in a pumpkin patch that we created for this fundraiser. The goal is $8,000
